About Your Hosts

Sarah Burnside spins tales for a living. Her first job out of college was providing “on mountain entertainment” for families visiting the Vail resorts. In costume, sometimes strapped to skis, she helped to create the Beaver Creek Children’s Theater. Since then, she’s written and directed for schools, churches, even a couple of cemeteries. She taught years and years of improv, and serves alternately as mentor, actor, and director with Tellin’ Tales Theater. Now a children’s librarian, she's a fan of quirky neighborhood venues, always on the lookout for a fresh voice or new take on a classic and is proud to follow the theater careers of former students. Mother to three sons, she never lacks for material.

Kim Scott has always loved stories. A librarian, mom, creative thinker, spiritual seeker, and avid book-listener, Kim believes sharing our stories can save lives, create lasting connections, and inspire change. She spends her free time writing, reading, eating large quantities of popcorn at solo movie outings, and trying to make her 2 year old laugh. Kim is thrilled to be part of the storytelling movement in Chicago.
