Do Not Submit Wicker Park takes place in the black box theatre of a treasured neighborhood comedy institution.
Arrive at 6:45 to sign up for a spot, and when your name is called, you will get 7 minutes on stage to share/tell/read anything you'd like. First come, first served. Listeners welcome.
No experience necessary to participate. All ages welcome.
No pressure, judgement, critiques, or scoring.
No restrictions on content or language except for hate speech.
Snacks and drinks available before the event starts.

About Your Hosts
Christine Fugate is a native Chicagoan and recent resident of Wicker Park. She is a graduate of the Story Workshop Method with a degree in fiction writing from Columbia College Chicago. Her work has been published in Five Minutes, Hippocampus and Chicago Sun-Times among others. Christine has been a featured reader and attended several literary open mics across Chicago over the past decade. She works an administrative assistant in the philanthropy & arts world and enjoys being artsy fartsy. She is equally thrilled to co-host with her longtime friend and writing partner Brian Kirst.
Brian Kirst has spent the last sixteen years interviewing celluloid cult icons like Jack Hill and Herschell Gordon Lewis at film events celebrating such anti-main stream fare as Spider Baby: or, The Maddest Story Ever Told and Two Thousand Maniacs! As a journalist, he has also covered the local fine arts scene via longstanding gigs with such publications as Sheridan Road Magazine, Chicago Free Press and Windy City Times. Eagle eyed viewers may have even caught him as the party hearty Porkchop on The Ex-Files episode of Double Cross, a short lived series on the Investigation Discovery Channel. He is thrilled to be sharing this co-hosting venture with Christine Fugate, one of his favorite Chicago based writers and beloved friends.
